Which Social Network Do You Think Is Best?
« on: September 29, 2011, 03:35:33 AM »
Personally I think either Facebook or Twitter.

Facebook because of pages, and the like button. It is just so easy. People use Facebook every day, so having them like your Facebook page and then posting updates gets your business in front of them quite easily.

Twitter, because it is so easy to network. One tweet can get you hundreds of clicks and views.

What do you think is the best?

wmf has a Facebook and a Twitter page, but I only spend time working with Twitter, "Facebook for grown-ups".

The only downside with the social networking sites is that the effusiveness of any links you place to your site only last a short while until it drops into the abyss.

Personally, I have found mixed results on Twitter, we get a few people come on board but it's mainly used as a way to engage with a wider audience, more immediately.

Each time I post a Twitter message, I see the website reporting we have 10 + guests on board, but that rarely matches Google Analytics, so I suspect a lot of those visitors are actually spiders - not been that bothered to check the web logs.   ::)

The effectiveness of a  social network still depends of how you will use it and your purpose for using it. For example in Facebook you can advertise your product or service through posting links, photos and videos that are related to your products. You can also create fan page where people can check and visit and like your business. On the other hand if you have most of your time and want to give a continuous updates it is a good choice to tweet.  :)

I don't think Facebook does anything for your SEO, an important factor.

Nope, I believe links are nofollow. None of my posted links on Facebook ever show up anywhere.

The effectiveness of a social media network still depends of how you use it for your SEO Management. Whether you are using twitter or Facebook the question how you implement them for creating traffics fro your site. But then you should not only focus on this for there are various strategies you can apply

I suppose G+ is more fits buisness needs than FB and Twitter. for example, their new brand feature allows to easily track your SMM campaigns on low level ( you can control how infomation spreads through G+) Here it is:  http://www.google.com/support/plus/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1713320&p=about_ripples

Thanks for that Red.

For those wanting a good business based social media, LinkedIn is awesome.  There aree plenty of sector-based groups you can join and interact with, it's facebook for business.

I feel like twitter is the best social network for networking and driving traffic to most sites.

But outside of marketing I wouldn't be surprised if google+ eventually dominates facebook.

I think we can say a social media is at it best once it succeed its purpose as a networking site. The way of how you optimize your website thru social media networks like facebook or twitter still depend of what purpose of them for you so the best social network vary from one person to another and to its purpose

Social networking sites like Twitter offers you a great amount of traffic. Facebook is good in getting deep information unlike Twitter. If you are talking which is best to use in marketing, I think both of them are really effective but personally, I love Facebook.  :)

One thing seems to be clear, businesses s are cutting down the bulwark between the business density and the social interaction. It is seen of how businesses are taking the opportunity of growing their venture through social media networks and connection.

I too have the same opinion as you man  8).
Facebook is good to share with like button, get fans using fan pages and to make your users stay updated.  I think Facebook is more popular than any other network as it is a world of entertainment and business.

Twitter is also good to make your users stay updated with a single tweet. One of the advantages of Twitter is that even strangers 'follows' us. Popularly, businesses use both Facebook and Twitter to promote their business. I use only these two social networks for my business.  8)
